Line Cook

The line cook is the one who prepares the food for individual orders as they come in. They are  responsible for setting up and breaking down their station and assuring they have everything  they need to perform service. Completing the daily prep list, cleaning, and backing up other  stations in the kitchen are also duties filled by this position. As most concepts feature an open  kitchen your appearance and demeanor also contribute to the guests’ dining experience.  Remember to smile and when necessary engage with guests.

Quality, presentation and ticket times should be the line cooks primary focus. In this position  timing is important to ensure tickets are completed together and food goes out hot and fresh.  Communication with management and kitchen crew is also paramount. The ideal candidate  will be hardworking, reliable, be able to manage multiple tickets at once, and work with a sense  of urgency. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:  

• Set up Station and stock all necessary supplies and ingredients needed for service •Prepare food for service 

• Fire menu items to order 

• Answer to, report and follow direction by management team 

• Maintain recipe integrity by preparing and plating menu items to company standards   • Clean up station and restock 

• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely fashion • Maintain nutrition, sanitation and safety standards at all times 

• Avoid 86’s by communicating needs to manager / team members

• Maintain a positive and professional approach 

  • Work with a sense of urgency at all times

  • The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs

Cashier 

The Cashier is one of the most important roles and requires a great deal of trust. This position

is also a great opportunity to prepare your team members to be servers. A well-trained Cashier

will make for a better performing Server. To that end they will support the servers by

processing payments, taking phone orders, assisting with food and beverage running. One of

their most important functions is to manage the takeout orders. They will be responsible for

inputting the orders, packing them and handing them to the customer/driver. Just because our

customers aren’t dining in the restaurant doesn’t mean their experience should be any less

stellar.

While you will be backing up the servers our focus is still the same; to ensure each of our guests

have a wonderful dining experience at Silverlake Ramen. In this position, timing, being

attentive and anticipating guests’ needs are keys to success. Don’t forget your most effective

tool, your smile! A big smile goes a long way in effecting our customers’ dining experience,

resolving issues and driving sales (tips too). The ideal candidate will be hard working, reliable,

engaging and able to work as a team with a strong sense of urgency. At times this position can

be stressful. Keeping a cool head and positive attitude will ensure that our guests all have the

same wonderful experience regardless of how busy the restaurant is.

• Greet guests and say goodbye on the way out

• Engage with guests in a friendly manner that contributes to a positive dining experience

• Be knowledgeable about menu, ingredients, allergens and anything else relating to

ordering

• Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately, repeating orders back to guests

in a timely manner. Make suggestions and upsell whenever possible

• Manage Take Out station making sure orders are taken accurately and packed correctly

• Check in throughout dining experience and anticipate guests’ needs

• Process payments/Handle cash

• Complete side work

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude

• The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
 

Server

The Server is truly the face of the restaurant. As the one having the most direct interaction

with the customer you will have the most opportunity to impact our guests dining experience.

While the basics include taking orders, answering questions about the menu and processing

payments it goes far beyond that. You are an ambassador of Silverlake Ramen guiding our

guests through their dining experience. Teamwork is paramount to being successful in this

position. Communication between kitchen staff and support team (bussers, cashier, etc) help

to make service run smooth and ensure everyone has a great dining experience!

Ensuring that our guests have a great dining experience is the servers’ primary focus. In this

The dishwasher, is instrumental in keeping business flowing smoothly and efficiently. You are

the foundation of our entire staff, from the front of the house to the back of the house, they will

rely on you to keep their tools and space clean and sanitary.

 

Dishwasher 

Dishwashers are responsible for ensuring the entire stock of bowls, cookware and

silverware is cleaned throughout a shift. Sanitation, Cleanliness and Organization are

the keys to success in this position. The dish area must remain sanitized and free of

debris and trash to ensure a clean work space. Once cleaned, dishes must be dried,

stacked and put away properly.

In this position you must keep up with a constant fast pace. The ideal candidate has a

strong knowledge of food and safety standards,

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Cleaning plates, cookware, and silverware

• Maintaining a clean kitchen and workspace

• Unload deliveries ensuring proper FIFO

• Assist in some food preparation, cooking or serving

• Take out trash

• Complete daily/weekly/monthly checklist

• Perform opening and closing duties

• Maintain cleaning supplies and utility area

• The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
 

Shift lead

As a shift lead you carry the same duties and responsibilities as a BOH team member but with

some additional administrative duties. While the basics include open/closing duties, answering

questions about the menu and processing payments it goes far beyond that. You are an
