    Saving California Museums

Author and publisher Roger Freely is a historian and re-enactor dedicated to bring public awareness of the crisis troubling museums in the United States. He strongly promotes saving and protecting museums and the history they hold. He has authored the book, “California’s Golden Museums and Historic Places,” in an effort to educate the general public of the important role museums play in our cultural past, present and future. The book is updated every three years and contains a wealth of information about museums in California.
The Chino Rotary welcomes the public to hear Mr. Freely speak on what citizens can do to save our museums. He will make his presentation on Wednesday September 2, 2015 during the weekly luncheon at the Chino Community Center located at 5443 B Street in Chino from 12:15pm – 1:30pm. Lunch is served at a minimal cost of $10 per person but is not required.
Roger Freely is the owner of Freely Press. He is an author and publisher committed to writing books and articles on museums and historical sites and buildings. He has a Master’s Degree in History and Transportation from UC-Irvine.
Mr. Freely will have a limited quantity of his book “California’s Golden Museums and Historic Places” available at this meeting. The book is now in its 4th edition. He is working on a book on all the museums of the United States and also one for the United Kingdom. His book makes a great gift for anyone wishing to have friends and relatives from out of state learn about museums in California. School age children significantly benefit from this book as it provides insight in the history of our state.
