  • Planning from Growth to Scale with Mitchell Morris: Innovation Council

Planning from Growth to Scale with Mitchell Morris: Innovation Council

Every business owner wants to grow, but growth alone doesn’t mean a business is ready to scale. As sales increase, so do the demands on people, processes, equipment, facilities, and management. Without the right infrastructure in place, growth can create more complexity instead of better results.

Join the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce Innovation Council for an interactive workshop with Mitchell Morris, Principal Advisor at Conrad Alois, focused on planning and building a business that is prepared for its next stage of growth.

Planning from Growth to Scale will help business owners step beyond the immediate pressures of running their company and think about the business they are actually trying to build. Participants will learn the difference between growth and scale, why businesses experience growing pains, and how leadership, accountability, infrastructure, and management work together to create a more scalable organization.

    What you will learn:

    • Growth vs. Scale — understand the difference and why simply getting bigger can create new problems
    • Define Your Future State — get clear about the business you are trying to build before deciding what needs to change
    • Design the Business — identify the roles, processes, resources, and management practices your future business will require
    • Find the Gaps — recognize what is missing today and where continued growth is most likely to create pressure
    • Build Before You Need It — begin developing the infrastructure and management capabilities needed to support the next stage of your business

This is a working session, not just a presentation. Participants will complete two practical exercises designed to help define their future business and create the initial architecture for getting there.

You’ll leave with a clearer picture of what scale means for your business, a practical path for beginning the journey, and a better understanding of how both the business, and the people managing it, must develop along the way.

A rare value: One-on-one guidance like this would typically run around $700. Through the Chamber’s Innovation Council, members attend for just $25 and non-members for $40, breakfast included.

About the speaker: Mitchell Morris is a Principal Advisor at Conrad Alois and a leader within the Chino Valley Chamber’s Innovation Council. He works with business owners and leadership teams to improve management, strengthen business infrastructure, and build organizations capable of sustainable growth.
