Connecting Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors
Celeste Palmer, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivor and Founder of Bridging the Gap connecting traumatic brain injury survivors, will be speaking to the Chino Rotary about the nonprofit.
Bridging the Gap engages survivors of brain trauma regionally with twice-monthly support groups and sponsors an annual Citrus College scholarship. Its website is filled with videos, articles and survivor stories.
“We cover current topics about brain injury, cutting-edge research about concussion and stroke, and we discuss what’s currently available to us in our recovery,” says Ms. Palmer on the group’s website, www.TBIbridge.org. “We also address the issues of survivors, caregivers, family, and friends.”
Ms. Palmer is also one of the contributors to Chicken Soup for the Soul: Recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries: 101 Stories of Hope, Healing, and Hard Work, with a foreword by Lee Woodruff (wife of former ABC co-anchor Bob Woodruff, a TBI survivor).
Proceeds from purchases made through Ms. Palmer at the talk go directly to Bridging the Gap; alternatively, readers may buy the volume through the nonprofit’s website: www.TBIbridge.org.
