Chino Rotary Club
(Chino - November 4, 2014) The Chino Rotary Club has invited Ms. Tamiko Chacon, Pastor of Justice Ministries and Spokesperson for TraffickFree Pomona, a ministry of Pomona First Baptist Purpose Church, to speak on Wednesday November 12th on the ubiquitous and heartbreaking topic of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of children. The discussion will cover how to identify victims and how the local communities of San Gabriel and Inland Valleys can get involved to help. "Victims of human trafficking are all around us," says Ms. Chacon. "The problem lies in the community not being educated on how to identify these victims and we miss the signs of human trafficking or are unaware of how to help. TraffickFree Pomona has introduced the 'Freedom Bag.' An initiative to help these victims by having the community fill bags with brand new items such as pajamas, underwear, t-shirts, socks, plush animals, a brush, towel, blanket, and other items and hand them out to victims in an effort to help them get a fresh start."
Ms. Tamiko Chacon has a Master Degree in Crosscultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. She resides in Pomona and is married with two children.
