Big Brothers Big Sisters Showcased at Chino Rotary

Jennifer O’Farrel, Executive Director of the Inland Empire’s Chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) will be spearheading a conversation on the importance of supporting and mentoring local youth.

Currently, this chapter serves over 600 children in the Inland Empire but they aspire to reach and impact more. They are looking for mentors to help in this endeavor. “We really have an ambitious goal within the next two years to serve over 1000 children,” said O’Farrell. “That’s not just 1000 kids, that’s 1000 mentors coming alongside. That is just the tipping point, that is barely scratching the surface of what our region really needs and what kids are needing to have in their life.”

With the support of a mentor, the youth in this program are 75% more likely to obtain a Bachelor’s degree. According to their website, 99% of youth in this program graduate from high school and 89% enroll in college. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, or if you run a business that is interested in sponsoring a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Empire, please attend this informational meeting where you and your business can make a difference.
